Senior Environmental Specialist

IES is looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities will include overseeing and performing indoor air quality testing, air sampling, hazardous materials sampling, health and safety consulting, soil and water sampling, site inspections during and after hazardous material removal, and preparing and reviewing formal scientific reports based on analytical findings and site conditions.

Job Description: IES is looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities will include overseeing and performing indoor air quality testing, air sampling, hazardous materials sampling, health and safety consulting, soil and water sampling, site inspections during and after hazardous material removal, and preparing and reviewing formal scientific reports based on analytical findings and site conditions.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Bondable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and switch tasks efficiently
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Ability to work alone for long hours
  • Ability to travel within Southwestern Ontario daily
  • Ability to be on your feet for full shifts
  • Ability to carry ladders and other equipment
  • Ability to write formal scientific report
  • Ability to review scientific reports with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to lead others
  • Strong ability and desire to learn
  • Ability to maintain professional, ethical and polite composure at all times
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex scenarios while following relevant regulatory and company processes

Preferred Requirements: Background in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Sciences is mandatory. Having a CRSP, CRST, Bachelors or Masters in Environmental Sciences, EP, CIH, ROH or similar designation is a strong asset.
