IES is looking for an Environmental Lead to join our team. Responsibilities will include overseeing phase I, phase II and phase III environmental site assessments, overseeing and performing indoor air quality testing, air sampling, hazardous materials sampling, soil and water sampling, site inspections during and after hazardous material removal, and reviewing formal scientific reports based on analytical findings and site conditions.

Mandatory Requirements:
Knowledge in environmental site assessments and associated legislation and guidelines
Knowledge in the identification, sampling and remediation of hazardous materials
Driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
Bondable
Canadian Citizen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and switch tasks efficiently
Ability to wear a respirator
Ability to work alone for long hours
Ability to travel within Southwestern Ontario daily
Ability to be on your feet for full shifts
Ability to carry ladders and other equipment
Ability to write formal scientific reports
Ability to review scientific reports with a keen eye for detail
Strong time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong work ethic
Strong ability and desire to learn
Ability to maintain professional, ethical and polite composure at all times
Ability to understand and navigate complex scenarios while following relevant regulatory and company processes
Preferred Requirements: Graduation from an environmental sciences or geosciences program is a strong asset. Holding a current Qualified Person for Environmental Site Assessment work in Ontario (QPESA) is a very strong asset.
